RPAS - Basic (RPASB 1.2)


Description
The Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) Basic Ground School meets the training requirements set by Transport Canada. At the conclusion of the course, you will be ready to write the Online Drone exam and safely operate your drone in Canada.

This course includes the following sections:
- Air law, air traffic rules, and procedures
- RPAS airframes, power plants, propulsion and systems
- Human factors
- Meteorology
- Navigation
- Flight operations
- Theory of flight
- Radiotelephony

The holder of a Drone Pilot Certificate for Basic operations is allowed to:
- Fly in uncontrolled airspace
- Fly at least 30 meters (100 feet) horizontally from bystanders
- Never fly over bystanders
- Fly at least 3 nautical miles from a certified airport or a military aerodrome
- Fly at least 1 nautical mile from a certified heliport
- Throughout this course, you will discover the rules and responsibilities involved with advanced drone operations.

If you operate outside of any of the 5 limitations previously listed then you will be operating under advanced operations and will be required to hold an Advanced RPAS Pilot certificate.
